Job Description

Our client, which manages over $100billion in AUM, is seeking a full-time Fixed Income Portfolio Analyst for its El Segundo, California-based headquarters.   The responsibilities of this position include running proprietary asset models for a $100+bn investment portfolio.  The candidate will liaise with Portfolio Traders, Risk/ALM Management, and Investment Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Actuarial in this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Running proprietary asset models, including projecting cashflows on structured credit portfolio, running various scenario analyses and monitoring analytics and other risk related metrics on entire asset portfolio

·       Analyze model results and create condensed materials for senior management consumption

·       Liaise with Financial Planning & Analysis to incorporate results into financial statements

·       Continually monitor movements in portfolio analytics at various levels of aggregation; identify and investigate deltas; work with traders and portfolio managers to troubleshoot

·       Help with the drafting of weekly/monthly commentary on asset portfolio

·       Work with team members, portfolio managers and developers to enhance proprietary models; provide feedback to quant team on debugging and new features

·       Help with the maintenance of documentation of various models and processes.  Work with SOC1 team to update controls as business evolves.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate is detail and process oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.  In addition, the following skills are necessary:

·       Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Business or Math/Sciences, progress toward CFA Charter a plus

·       3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in the financial services sector, such as an investment manager or Big 4 consulting firm

·       Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team

·       Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, database experience (e.g. SQL/Access) a plus

·       General understanding of accounting principles

·       Aptitude to quickly learn data flow architecture between the various systems within the organization

·       Able to think outside of the box and problem solve, pay attention to detail, be organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
